Color Matching Game
The purpose of the game is to help to understand better the characteristics of your color vision and not to diagnose color blindness!
Description of the game
The task is to match basic colors (red, orange, yellow, green, turquoise, blue and purple). The saturation and lightness is fixed while the hue can be adjusted. The difficulty of the game is changed by reducing the lightness of the colors. Complete one difficulty level takes about 1-2 minutes, the full game about 5 minutes. The game can be interrupted at any time because the results are displayed by colors to colors.
How to use the game?
- Match the colors using the slider!
- If the colors match, click the 'Matched! Get the next color' button!
- The result is displayed bellow.
- 7 colors come randomly must be matched to complete a level! (red, orange, yellow, green, turquoise, blue and purple).
- To get to the next level the average difference should be less than 8! It will be more and more difficult.
- There are 3 levels: easy, medium, hard.
Interpretation of the result
One color can be described by three parameters. For example, red, green and blue content or saturation, lightness, and hue. In this game the saturation and lightness is fixed while the hue can be adjusted. The value of the hue varied between 0 and 360. See in the pictures bellow:
After each color matching, the following values are displayed:
Target color: The value of the target color you want to match.
Matched color: The value of the matched color you adjusted.
Difference: The difference of the target and matched colors.
Average difference:The average of the differences (of the 7 matched colors), once a level is completed.
The better color matching, the smaller difference. Color ranges are also named in the game. Please note that the names of the color ranges are subjective, so they are only for informational purposes!
